Joel Osteen

Christina and I went to see the smiling pastor Joel Osteen at the Greensboro coliseum on Friday night. What an inspiring, touching, wonderful night! He and his wife Victoria are such beautiful speakers and didn't even stutter or stumble over one word all night. Being that we were in the rafters, I could see that there was no teleprompter and he had no notes. I know he gets criticized for making too much money but any other motivational speaker that touched people and drew crowds like he does would be 10 times as wealthy as he is. I think he deserves every penny and then some. His whole family was with him and he even introduced his precious children. It was so inspiring to hear his message but what was even more moving was to see the greensboro coliseum packed to the very top row with Christian people all excited and united for Christ. It was an amazing night!

My first year of grad school

This huge "LU" is carved into the side of the mountain right across from the campus. Very cool.
I'm so blessed to be able to stay at home with Caroline and pursue my education. This is me and my sweet Caroline on the steps of the main building on Liberty's campus.
This is a beautiful memorial garden and the grave site of Jerry Falwell. I don't think this picture does it justice but it is right on the side of a mountain, in the middle of the campus. There is a gorgeous fountain with a cross with a flame in the middle of it. It is so peaceful and made me really grateful to Jerry Falwell for starting this wonderful Christian University.

I can't believe that I am finishing up my first year of graduate school! It feels like I just started this journey yesterday! I am going to Liberty University in May to take a week long "intensive" class. I'm a little nervous about leaving Caroline and Tony for a whole week, they will have a great time together...I will just miss them so much! Anyway, we made a family trip to Lynchburg a few weekends ago so I could see where my class was going to be and to get set up in a hotel. The campus is very beautiful. Here are some pics from our day trip!

April "Fools" Day

In Florida, an atheist created a case against the upcoming Easter & Passover holy days. He hired an attorney to bring a discrimination case against Christians, Jews & observances of their holy days. The argument was it was unfair that atheists had no such recognized day(s). The case was brought before a judge. After listening to the passionate presentation by the lawyer, the judge banged his gavel declaring, 'Case dismissed.' The lawyer immediately stood objecting to the ruling saying, 'Your honor, how can you possibly dismiss this case? The Christians have Christmas, Easter & others. The Jews have Passover, Yom Kippur & Hanukkah. Yet my client & all other atheists have no such holidays.' The judge leaned forward in his chair saying, 'But you do. Your client, counsel, is woefully ignorant.' The lawyer said, 'Your Honor, we are unaware of any special observance or holiday for atheists.' The judge said, 'The calendar says April 1st is 'April Fools Day.' Psalm 14:1 states 'The fool says in his heart, there is no God.' Thus, it is the opinion of this court, that if your client says there is no God, then he is a fool. Therefore, April 1st is his day. Court is adjourned.
